Problem
1 in 3 African youth face unemployment, with limited access to job opportunities or career development. Many lack the resources to build sustainable careers, leaving them vulnerable to poverty and economic insecurity.

We also connect youth with job opportunities through networks and partnerships, helping them achieve financial independence and positively impact their communities.

Problem
50% of African youth lack access to quality education and vocational training, leaving them unprepared for today’s competitive workforce. This gap limits their ability to secure jobs or start businesses, perpetuating cycles of poverty.
-
How YEA Helps
YEA offers skill-building workshops and digital literacy programs that focus on practical, in-demand skills like coding, financial literacy, and leadership. These programs empower youth to compete in the global market and take control of their professional growth.

-
Problem
1 in 7 African youth experience mental health challenges, often facing stigma and a lack of accessible support. Many feel isolated, unable to seek help or talk about their struggles, which affects their personal growth and participation in their communities.
-
How YEA Helps
YEA addresses mental health by fostering safe spaces for dialogue, offering counseling, and running awareness campaigns. We promote peer support groups and resilience-building programs, equipping youth with tools to manage stress and overcome challenges.

-
Problem
Gender inequality remains a significant barrier for young women in Africa. From unequal access to education to workplace discrimination and gender-based violence, young women face systemic challenges that limit their opportunities to succeed.
-
How YEA Helps
YEA empowers women through mentorship programs, leadership training, and gender equality advocacy. We raise awareness about gender-based violence and work to create inclusive spaces where young women can thrive and lead in their communities.

-
Problem
Only 28% of African youth have access to the internet or digital tools, leaving many disconnected from global opportunities. The digital divide limits education, innovation, and career advancement in a technology-driven world.
-
How YEA Helps
YEA bridges the digital divide by offering digital literacy workshops, providing access to technology, and teaching skills like coding and digital marketing. These programs prepare youth for the digital economy and open doors to new opportunities.

What People Think About Us
I was deeply moved by YEA’s blood donation drive and cleanliness initiative at Temeke Regional Hospital. Not only did they mobilize youth to contribute to a lifesaving cause, but the cleanliness efforts also created a more welcoming environment for patients. It’s inspiring to see young people making such a meaningful difference in healthcare.
YEA’s ‘Binti na Maendeleo’ program taught me about self-confidence, leadership, and financial literacy. I now mentor younger girls in my community, encouraging them to stay in school and dream big. YEA gave me the courage to believe in my potential and pursue my goals
YEA’s celebration of the International Day of People with Disability was empowering. For the first time, I felt seen and heard as a person with a disability. Their commitment to inclusivity and breaking barriers is inspiring, and I hope to see more youth involved in such initiatives.
